BXL POP NAÏF: Due to unforeseen circumstances, the exhibition will not be open on 27 October

  • We’re excited to team up with Roméo Elvis for BXL POP NAÏF, an exhibition curated by the artist himself! Known for his music, Roméo brings his passion for art to DEMAIN STUDIOS, highlighting the bold, spontaneous spirit of Brussels through a selection of diverse and local creatives.

"I am Roméo Elvis. I am Belgian and I work in the music industry. Music has changed my life, but my first passion remains drawing.

Demain invited me to curate an exhibition where I bring together a diverse group of Brussels creatives, from recent graduates to art directors, singers, sculptors, painters, jewellers... Through this process of selecting artists I discovered what I really wanted to highlight: colours, spontaneity in the approach, free from preconceptions, bref, the spirit of BXL. Like the artists, the art we show is multifaceted. What connects us is the shared embrace of naivety."

    PARTICIPATING ARTISTS
Roméo Elvis and Diana Bitar, Juliette Castay, Ethel Coppieters, EKAYYNE, Léo Gillet, Matthieu Livrieri, Alec Palaz.

    • ROMÉO ELVIS

      ROMÉO ELVIS

"I sold my first painting to a friend—a foot wearing a soccer boot. For reasons I can't quite explain, the experience filled me with a profound sense of joy.

Inspired by the interest from the DEMAIN team, I decided to create a series featuring feet moving through different worlds. In each piece, the feet all walk in the same direction, with no hint of the person they belong to. No faces, just feet that tell their own story."

    • DIANA BITAR

      DIANA BITAR

Diana Bitar graduated from the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. As a textile artist, she works with hand-pleated and hand-dyed fabrics. Not seeking to reproduce the real world, Diana aims to provoke emotions and tell stories through her work, immersing the viewer in a tide of colors and memories.

These works encapsulate the ebb and flow of emotions that course through the life of a relationship, portraying a journey across time.

    • JULLIETTE CASTAY

      JULLIETTE CASTAY

Juliette’s artistic journey began at La Cambre in Brussels, where her passion for objects and design was refined.
Guided by her hands, she never makes preparatory sketches; each piece of jewellery emerges spontaneously. She uses the lost-wax casting technique, a process that fascinates her. Through this method, she transforms wax into silver, bringing her inspirations to life.

    • ETHEL COPPIETERS

      ETHEL COPPIETERS

Ethel Coppieters portrays women whose faces and bodies evoke mixed feelings. Ethel’s characters possess a mysterious beauty, with delicate, almost apathetic faces that reveal the traces left by a life experience.

    • EKAYYNE

      EKAYYNE

Elliot Abirkane, also known as EKAYYNE, is a multidisciplinary artist from Brussels who moves fluidly between the digital and physical realms. This fusion of worlds gives rise to works that are both abstract and dreamlike. By deliberately avoiding the pursuit of traditional "beauty", Elliot invites the viewer to focus on the act of creation itself, with each piece opening a doorway to self-reflection.

    • LÉO GILLET

      LÉO GILLET

Léo Gillet is born in 1996 in Brussels. His practice unfolds within a fragmented, ultra-colorful, and generous narrative, presented in the form of illustrations, comics, sculptures, or even tapestries.

Through his work, he strives to reveal the charm of a certain banality by exploring his surroundings and addressing themes such as nature, folklore, celebration, awkwardness, playfulness, and kitsch.

    • MATTHIEU LIVRIERI

      MATTHIEU LIVRIERI

Matthieu Livrieri is born in Grenoble and now works in Belgium. His art captures the essence of everyday life, often depicted through genre scenes that feel vibrant and familiar. With a palette rich in color and a luminous touch, he transforms ordinary moments into something almost sacred, celebrating the beauty of the present.

    • ALEC PALAZ

      ALEC PALAZ

Alec creates ceramic monsters, and it’s in this creative process that he feels he's finally discovered his true self. Each phase of his life guided him forward, helping him understand what he genuinely wants to do: tell stories through his hands.

His sculptures reflect the transition from fear to playfulness, transforming his personal anxieties into mischievous, lovable characters. Through his art, Alec aims to encourage others to hold onto a part of their childhood imagination, no matter their age, and to see their fears through a lighter, more joyful lens.
