Sam Druant (°1998, BE) is an artist whose practice navigates the complexities of everyday struggles and societal expectations. With a BA and MA in Textile Design from LUCA School of Arts Ghent and an MFA in Fine Arts from HDK-Valand University of Gothenburg, Sam has developed a research-driven approach that expands upon her textile-based practice.
Rooted in feminist themes, her work employs alternative narratives and magical thinking to reframe personal experiences within broader societal contexts. These explorations manifest in intricate, colorful tapestries often accompanied by prose or poetry, where material and text engage in a dynamic dialogue.
In 2022, she received the Bronze Award for Craft at the Henry Van de Velde Awards, recognizing the strength of her emerging artistic voice.
